SOLAR PV

"I have worked with Solar UK previously, and they have again delivered an excellent project for my client.

The installation team, and the overall communications from start to finish, were first class.".

- NP, Low Carbon Consultants, London and East Sussex

SOLAR PV

"We had solar panels and various pieces of kit (Eddi, Harvi, Solis inverter) installed by a different company (not Solar UK). We discovered that the kit hadn't been wired or connected correctly, and there were various problems which meant that it wasn't working as expected. Two Solar UK engineers came and diagnosed the problems and then returned to complete the work. They were on time, knowledgeable, competent, and polite. We are very pleased with their work".

- Ms J. M : East Sussex

Choosing your solar installation company

When choosing a solar installation company, there are several important factors to consider.

Here are some of the key considerations:

Experience and Reputation: It's important to choose a company that has a proven track record of successful solar installations. Look for a company that has been in business for a number of years and has positive reviews from previous customers.

Expertise and Qualifications: Solar installations can be complex, so it's important to choose a company that has qualified and experienced installers.

In the UK, there are several qualifications and certifications that are recognized within the solar industry. Here are some of the most important ones:

- Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS): This is a UK-wide scheme that certifies microgeneration products and installers. MCS certification is required for solar PV and wind turbine installations to be eligible for previous government incentives like the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ): This is a nationally recognized vocational qualification that certifies an individual's competence in a particular trade or profession. For solar PV installers, the relevant NVQ is Level 3 in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installation Work in Dwellings.

- City and Guilds: This is a UK-based vocational education organization that offers a range of qualifications and certifications. For solar PV installers, the relevant City and Guilds qualification is Level 3 Certificate in Installing and Commissioning Solar Photovoltaic Systems.

- NICEIC Certification: This is a certification scheme for electrical contractors in the UK. NICEIC certification is not specific to solar PV installations, but it does indicate that the installer is qualified to carry out electrical work safely and to a high standard.

Overall, MCS certification is the most important qualification for solar PV installers in the UK, as it is required for installations to be eligible for government incentives. However, other qualifications and certifications can help installers demonstrate their expertise and commitment to quality.

Quality of Products: The quality of the solar panels, inverters, and other components used in the installation can have a significant impact on the performance and longevity of the system. Solar UK only uses high-quality products from reputable manufacturers.

Warranty and Maintenance: Solar panels and other components should come with a warranty to ensure that you are protected against defects or failures. Additionally, consider whether the company offers ongoing maintenance and support services to keep your system running smoothly.

Pricing and Financing Options: The cost of a solar installation can vary widely, so it's important to get multiple quotes and compare pricing from different companies. Additionally, consider whether the company offers financing options such as leases or loans to help make the system more affordable.

Overall, choosing a reputable and experienced solar installation company can help ensure that your system is installed correctly and performs optimally for years to come.
